What is the most important lesson you’ve learned about building a brand?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to follow my initial instinct.  I also quickly learned that for every “no” there is a “yes”.

What is the most important lesson life has taught you!!
Life has taught me that every day creates a memory.  I am very cognizant that everything I do creates a memory for my future.

!What has been the most challenging aspect of starting the brand?
The most challenging aspects of the launch have been branding decisions, things affecting exposure, placement, packaging, etc .   It takes time and attention to make sure our brand is communicating the right message:  healthy, chemical-free living.  You always want to feel you’re making the right choice!

Who or what do you look to for your inspiration?
My faith in God, which inspires a great amount of self-confidence.  My daily devotional helps me to keep perspective, and maintain the motivation and energy I need to stay on top of the business and life in general.

The 2012 FIFI Fragrance Foundation

New York N.Y. December 19th, 2012 – What an amazing response! 36 “Indie” fragrance entries representing 30 brands arrived at the office of The Fragrance Foundation by UPS, FedEx, mail, messenger and even hand-delivered by the perfumers themselves. 

“Indie fragrance brand entrepreneurs are clearly excited and enthused to participate in the2012 “Indie” FiFi® Award Category in partnership with Elements Showcase and have the chance to win the FiFi® Award along with the $10,000.00 congratulatory check generously sponsored by Givaudan to provide an extra measure of encouragement and support to these talented, creative free-spirits,” comments Mary Ellen Lapsansky, Vice President of the Foundation.

The award presentation will take place on January 30th at the Elements Showcase in a fun, festive ceremony highlighting the five finalists and announcing the winner.

“Independent brands and the people behind them are driving innovation. Surely all the nominees are deserving of accolades,” said Frederick Bouchardy, co-founder of Elements Showcase. “We are proud and thrilled to shine the spotlight on them next month.”
